:oHi All, I have heard through a reliable source that the CR80's have some reliablity issues with the pistons. Is there any truth to this and if so, how often should I be looking at a topend rebuild? Also, has anyone used the Wiseco forged piston instead of Vertex or OEM and if so, is it more reliable or just more expensive? Thanks for the help! ;D "One inch off the ground at 110mph!" John, You might want to contact Bob Betts ( Assault Motorsports ), he builds some very fast 80 and 125 Hondas, as well as TM and others and could tell you how long to run a top end. Give me a call if you don't have his number. Mark

It depends on who b/p the motor. I know Woltjer use cut pistons and recomened no more than 45 min on a piston. I've seen what happens after 45 and it's not good.

;D Thanks Kyle, I think I will go with the Wiseco topend kit as it isn't that much more expensive than Vertex. I will try to get a hold of Bob Betts this weekend as he thought he might have built the engine for the previous owner. In any case, I think I will have him look it over and do the topend the first time. Had also thought about going to ceramic crank bearings but not sure if it's worth the extra money.
