;D Hi All,
I have been following several threads in this regard on other forums. The general concensus of opinion seems to be that this class would reign in the current "money pit" philosophy that the class has now and would allow the ICC's to continue with their own endeavers. I have posted here about the choice of either a Moto or ICC engine for next season. If a Stock Moto class were available, it would be much easier for me financially to change from my CR80. It also may create a class that would be equal to the TAG catagory in terms of participants. So, is there any interest out there?

Ive been waiting to see what Stockholm is going to do with this class. I dont even know if they are tossing around the idea yet. This is something that we should have a serious look at. If you look at the shifter class over the last 3 or 4 years a lot of things have changed. At the local level the class was thriving with the open moto format. It was normal to see 12 plus karts in the class on a regular basis. The opening race for the 02 season we had 22 karts. Then things changed on the national level with the intoduction of the ICC. The trickle down to the club level was fast and some where along the way the attendance took a hugh dive. I dont know how many will be racing the 125 shifter class this year but it does'nt look good. The Stock Moto class is built on the same principal as the TAG class, lower maintence and it puts a premium on driver skill and chassis tunning. A complete motor package can be purchased for under $3000. These motors can be run on pump gas and are capable of going an entire season with no maintenance. I have talked to more than a few people in the past year that said they would be interested in this class if it were avalible. 'IF YOU READ THIS AND HAVE AN OPINION OR A QUESTION PLEASE RESPOND, WITHOUT INTEREST IT WILL NEVER TAKE OFF'

Could this run at the same time as the 125 with qualifying times setting the grid? The only problem I see would be the leaders lapping the slower karts in the final. I think there are a lot of XL guys that have old moto packages out there that may be interested. Has SMP got a race order for 2006 posted yet?

I can honestly say that the only reason I dont race shifters is because of the outragous costs. If stockholm had a stock moto class I would sell my tag motor in a second.

Lance9, Actually there is nothing stopping someone from running one right now in the 125 Class. They would be at a slight to moderate power disadvantage but it could be done. With the final only being 12 laps and if the driver was up to speed they would not get lapped. Id guess that the stock moto would be about 1-1.5 sec off the pace of an ICC.
