I don't know anything about ovals, but it's good to see someone else posting on here.

Gene, I'm afraid not. The numbers Stockholm got were not enough to cover the expenses. I believe they are putting in a clay oval, but , am not sure if that project will happen for sure. Mark

Think about it, wouldn't it be nice to have the kids home at dinner time instead of 1 AM the next day. I would think that a track like Shakopee would be interested in the Burris Series. Jamica is a perfect track but 8 hrs of driving to watch your kid go around 40 times just whips up on ya,

I've talked to a few people about the dirt oval at Stockholm and as long as it is bigger than a 1/8 mi that they would come.

:)Hi All,
I would not be opposed to trying some oval track racing but the cost of buying and maintaining an LTO kart as well as scheduling conflicts with my sprint racing efforts will probably curtail any efforts in that direction, at least for this season. Good luck in your efforts at promotion.

Copper Creek Motorsports in Superior, WI will be opening a new 1/7 mile asphalt oval around the 22nd of April. Sounds like caged karts only.

Mark, we ran a couple of times at Jamaica last year and will again this year. That facility is perfect in every way other than the fact it is 4 hrs south of the cities and no one else goes. The new track in Superior is alittle closer to home, camping, and fishing. I hope the smaller track will be a little more exciting to watch. Sounds like the kids will get done in time to go to the Hwy 13 track to run a little clay the same night.

;D Hi All,
OK, It's time for my weekly dummy question so here goes. Could I run a shifter sprint kart on an asphalt oval? Are there any classes for something like that? Just curious.

If you are refering to your 80cc, not many. The only oval shifter classes up here are dirt and usually 125 and 250cc. Check with Thunder Hills as they run 'winged' shifters I don't know if they will let you come play with them. On dirt your chassis would be at a definate disadvantage. Mark

;D Hi All, I didn't really think that I would be able to run with the "roundy rounders" without an LTO chassis but I thought it might be an interesting change of pace just to try it. I think an asphalt track would be the only way to go for me anyway as I would hate to spend 3 or 4 weeks cleaning the kart again! ;D I really have enough problems just trying to get ready for the sprint season without adding to the load! Maybe next year if time permits.
